Montgomery County Law Enforcement Memorial

By attending the Montgomery County Law Enforcement Memorial Ceremony on Friday, May 6, 2016, citizens can best observe local police history and honor the true heroes of our community… law enforcement officers who lives were sacrificed in the line of duty.  This year’s service is held under cover of the Riverscape Palladium.

Two officers who died in earlier years are being added to the MCLEM Fallen Roll:  Germantown PD Sgt. Robert Woods (end of watch 1976), who died while on a domestic dispute call, and Baltimore & Ohio Railroad Det. Alfred Knight (eow 1927), who was shot and killed at the North Dayton railroad yard.

The MCLEM Ceremony has proven to be a well-organized event and well worth the time spent paying respect to our 38 fallen law enforcement officers countywide, which includes Dayton’s Fallen 24 Officers and 14 Fallen Officers from communities throughout Montgomery County.
